The island was a military base until 1989 and has retained its unspoiled charm. Vis is famous for its stunning Blue Cave (Modra špilja) on the nearby Biševo Island, where sunlight creates a mesmerizing blue glow inside the cave. The island’s main towns, Vis and Komiža, offer a glimpse into traditional Dalmatian life, with their quaint harbors and historic architecture. - Mljet
Mljet is often described as Croatia’s greenest island, thanks to its lush forests and stunning national park, which covers the western part of the island. Mljet National Park is home to two saltwater lakes, Veliko and Malo Jezero, connected by a narrow channel. Mljet is ideal for those seeking tranquility and natural beauty. - Pag
Pag is known for its unique, moon-like landscape, lively festivals, and delicious local cheese, Paški sir. The island’s rocky terrain and sparse vegetation give it an otherworldly appearance. Pag Town and Novalja are the main hubs, with Novalja being particularly famous for its vibrant nightlife and the Zrće Beach party scene. Despite its arid appearance, Pag also offers beautiful beaches and hidden coves. - Šolta
Šolta is a small, unspoiled island located near Split. It offers a peaceful retreat with its charming villages, olive groves, and vineyards.
